A box of six hand-made Adorable Chocolat bonbons

Corporate chocolate gifts, made in New Brunswick

By December, "thank you" has a whole year to carry: the patience, the extra hours, the person who found a way through when the plan stopped working. A well-chosen gift lends those two words some weight.

Adorable Chocolat is a chocolaterie at 395 Main Street in Shediac, New Brunswick. Since 2011 it has helped businesses across Atlantic Canada say thank you with chocolate made by hand, packaging chosen for the occasion, and a message worth reading before the lid comes off.

A gift with a place and a person behind it

The story begins in 2007, with Ginette Ahier's Choco-Cocagne. In 2011 she joined Frédéric Desclos, a chocolatier from Brittany, to found Adorable Chocolat. Today Maître Chocolatier Lucas Michel, trained in France, carries the craft on in the atelier beneath our café.

Down there, the ganache for the coffee and lemongrass centres is cut and coated by hand, and moulds give the bars and the seashells their shape. The box is the last moment of a much longer piece of work. Every piece inside it carries our Clean Label: organic, responsibly sourced cacao, and no GMOs, hydrogenated oils, high-fructose corn syrup, artificial colours, or chemical preservatives. Ingredients you can pronounce, in other words.

So when someone asks where their gift came from, there's a good answer: a chocolaterie on Main Street in Shediac, and a person who made it.

Who it's for

The people whose business you'd like to keep. The colleagues who carried the year. Partners, suppliers, the board, and the person who always answers the phone. A thank-you for one person, a box for a household, and chocolate for the office table each ask for something different, so begin with the people, then the budget.

How it works

Three choices, in order:

  1. Choose the chocolates. Assorted boxes of 6, 12, or 25 bonbons, from $16 a box; Taste of the Sea, with Atlantic sea salt caramels, truffles, and chocolate seashells; Atelier bags of a single flavour, for the person whose favourite you already know; or a mix.
  2. Choose the packaging. Our boxes and ribbon, or your own branding, down to chocolates carrying your logo. Tell us the quantity and we'll tell you what's possible and what it costs.
  3. Choose the message. A card with your note, signed however you like. Give this part a little time: a specific thank-you reads differently from a seasonal greeting. Name the project, the contribution, or the years. A few honest lines are plenty.

Then we make them, pack them, and get them to you: pick-up in Shediac any day of the week, Saturday mornings at our booth in the Marché de Dieppe, or shipping across Canada.

When to order

Chocolate made by hand is made in batches, and December fills, so order early. A branded box takes longer again: it's a September project, not a thought for the first week of December. Reading this in December? Write to us anyway, and we'll tell you what's still possible.

Mention allergies at the same time, nuts especially: the assorted boxes include hazelnut and praline, and Taste of the Sea is listed nut-free. We'll tell you exactly what's in the pieces you're considering.

Ask us

Tell us how many people, your budget per gift, the date you need them by, and where they're going, and we'll come back with a proposal. info@adorablechocolat.ca · (506) 351-0367 · 395 Main Street, Shediac, NB E4P 2B1
